Café Cantante Series
The Café Cantante Series began two years ago to enhance our readings and introduce the audiences to the relationship between music, dance and film. The Flamenco Poets Society presented Randy Cordero, flamenco guitarist for the first series of poetry and music. He was our guest artist for the winter program in 2007 at the Freed-Montrose Public Library.
For the 2008 series, we introduced poet Guadalupe M. Méndez, Julietta Parra Ducote and Randy Cordero, guitarist for the event held at the Brazilian Arts Foundation and supported by the Poets & Writers, Inc. The summer event was sponsored by the Freed-Montrose Public Library as part of the library summer reading series for adults. The artist for the program was flamenco dancer Ana de la Peza for Lorca: Poetry and Dance.
